1.1 This specification covers requirements for ferrous and nonferrous inch balls. The balls covered in this specification are intended for use in bearings, bearing applications, check valves, and other components using balls.

1.2 This is a general specification. The individual item requirements shall be as specified herein in accordance with the applicable MS sheet standards as listed in . In the event of any conflict between requirements of this specification and the MS sheet standards, the latter shall govern.
